Alex Vipond, RMT
In-Home Massage Therapy

Alex Vipond is a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, working in Toronto and the surrounding area. He is proficient in all areas of massage therapy treatment, but specializes in deep tissue massage therapy, trigger point massage therapy, and active release techniques.

Alex is also a certified provider of contemporary medical acupuncture. As a graduate of McMaster University's Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program, Alex is at the cutting edge of functional electro-acupuncture therapy to treat a wide variety of ailments.

Alex works out of Royal York Massage Therapy at Dundas St. and Royal York Rd, but also provides in-home treatments. In-home massage is the most stress-free and relaxing way to benefit from massage therapy, and Alex's clients enjoy being able to relax in the comfort of their own home following a massage. In-home treatment is also ideal for those who are less mobile due to injury or illness. Alex is available to provide in-home treatment in the Metro Toronto area. There may be an additional charge for those outside of Toronto.

Prior to embarking on his career in massage therapy, Alex earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree, but began to consider a career change after he sustained a soft tissue injury that baffled doctors but was eventually cured through massage therapy and Active Release Techniques. This sparked his interest, and after careful consideration he decided to embark on the training necessary to become a Registered Massage Therapist. While training at Canadian Therapeutic College, he was thrilled to find that he was a very effective massage therapist, and even more importantly, that he loved the work. Alex always strives to determine the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction in his clients and to use all avenues at his disposal to treat these causes. He feels an individualized holistic approach to massage therapy is essential in helping his clients to be as healthy and pain-free as possible. It is important to Alex that he maintain a dialogue with his clients concerning the most appropriate lifestyle, homecare, and exercise practices for rehabilitation from injury or for augmenting current physical functioning.

In his free time, you can find Alex snowboarding, camping, listening to music, cheering on the Blue Jays and spending time with his wife Jordan and their son Oliver.
