For the past 12 years Alex Vipond has worked as a Registered Massage Therapist in Toronto and now Burlington. As a graduate of McMaster University's Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program, he is also a certified provider of contemporary medical acupuncture and is at the cutting edge of functional electro-acupuncture therapy to treat a wide variety of ailments.
Prior to embarking on his career in massage therapy, Alex earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree. After he sustained a soft tissue injury that baffled doctors but was eventually cured through massage therapy and Active Release Techniques Alex was inspired by the process, and he decided to begin training to become a Registered Massage Therapist. While training at Canadian Therapeutic College, he was thrilled to find that he was both skilled at the work and even more importantly, that he loved it.
Alex always strives to determine the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction in his clients and to use all avenues at his disposal to treat these causes. He feels an individualized holistic approach to massage therapy is essential in helping his clients to be as healthy and pain-free as possible. Throughout treatment, Alex maintains a dialogue with his clients concerning the most appropriate lifestyle, home care, and exercise practices for rehabilitation from injury or for augmenting current physical functioning.
In his free time, you can find Alex snowboarding, camping, listening to music, cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays and spending time with his wife Jordan and two sons Oliver and Theo.
