What should I expect on my first treatment?
First, you'll fill out a brief health history form and Alex will ask you some general questions. This helps rule out any reasons why massage might not be for you, and to determine the right treatment plan based on your goals and physical condition.
Will my work benefits package cover Alex's massage therapy treatments?
Almost all extended health insurance coverage here in Ontario includes massage therapy. You may need to check with your insurance carrier to determine the amount of your coverage and if any restrictions apply.
What do I wear during treatment?
In general most people remove all clothing or remain only in their underwear, but the level of undress is always up to you depending on your comfort level. You can address any concerns you may have to Alex prior to treatment. The studio has a private area for you to undress, and you will always be covered by a sheet and blanket except for the area of your body being worked on.
Is massage therapy painful?
Depending on your goals and the specific techniques used, Alex will practice massage techniques that can range from lightly soothing and painless, to deep and somewhat painful.
